The Mayor of Tumbler Ridge wants the province to start allowing Segways on streets and sidewalks.The Segway is a two wheel electric vehicle that can travel about 20 km an hour and Larry White believes they would be perfect for a small town like his.According to the CBC, Mayor White says the community doesn’t have a lot of traffic or pedestrians on the sidewalks or streets and the Segway would allow people to leave their cars at home.- Advertisement -Currently the Segway cannot be legally operated on roads or sidewalks in BC because it doesn’t meet current safety standards.
