The house has been painted from the ceilings to the floors.“We’ve renovated quite a few houses and put in kitchens with granite benchtops and glossy (cabinetry), which can cost upwards of $30,000,” Ms Webb said. “The (tool) benches cost $799 for the smaller one and $899 each for the bigger ones and we also bought a cheap cabinet for the kitchen sink.”In addition to the budget kitchen, the pair also put in two new bathrooms and painted the cottage inside and out — including the floorboards. “We actually ripped the carpet up and there were floorboards underneath that weren’t in very good condition, so we painted them turquoise,” Ms Webb said. “We’re really close to beach and I realty like turquoise so I thought, why not?”The Woody Point property is currently tenanted. The only things that didn’t fit were my wine glasses but we just hung them from a shelf.” The couple has undertaken a number of kitchen overhauls but this was by far their cheapest.
