According to Philstar.com, the hit musical’s producing and creative team will fly in from London for the talent search. The upcoming Broadway revival of Miss Saigon is set to be headlined by the two London leads, Eva Noblezada and JonJon Briones. The heat is on!George Gaynes Dead at 98George Gaynes, perhaps best known for his screen work in Tootsie and the Police Academy films, along with the 1980s sitcom Punky Brewster, died on February 15 aged 98. The New York Times reports that his death was confirmed by his daughter, Iya Gaynes Falcone Brown. The much-loved character actor made his Broadway debut in 1950 in The Consul; Gaynes’ multiple additional Main Stem credits included Out of This World, Wonderful Town, Of Love Remembered and the 1973 production of Gigi.The Toxic Avenger’s New LifeInteresting. After making an impact off-Broadway back in 2009 followed by a U.S. national tour, the stage adaptation of 1984 cult movie The Toxic Avenger will receive its European premiere at the U.K.’s Southwark Playhouse. Featuring a score by Bon Jovi founding member David Bryan and book and lyrics by Joe DiPietro (the team behind Memphis), the show includes an unlikely hero, his beautiful blind girlfriend, a corrupt New Jersey mayor and an unbelievable duet.
